About the project
Pruty.sk is a Slovak catalogue of fishing tackle combined with an advice section for anglers. It is not an online shop: you choose and compare gear here and buy it directly from the retailer. Prices are updated daily.
The catalogue covers rods, reels, lines and braids, lures and baits, hooks and rigs, feeders, bite alarms, landing nets, bags, clothing and footwear, camping gear, boats and fish finders. Rods can be filtered by length, casting weight, test curve, brand and price. Gear is also grouped by fishing method, for example carp fishing, spinning, feeder, float fishing, catfish, trout or fly fishing.
The advice section answers practical questions: how to choose your first set of tackle, a rod for float fishing or boilies, how to catch zander on soft plastics, how to cast further, or how to look after rods and reels. It also has articles about specific Slovak waters, such as Zemplínska šírava, Domaša, the Orava reservoir and the Danube, and about how to get a fishing licence and permit.

How to search
- If you know how you want to fish, start with gear by technique, for example Spinning gear or Feeder gear.
- For rods, set the filters for length, casting weight and test curve so you only see models suited to your water and baits.
- Beginners will find ready-made combos in the Rod + reel sets category and an article on first fishing tackle in the advice section.
- Before a trip to unfamiliar water, read the advice articles about specific fishing waters and about the fishing licence and permit.
Frequently asked questions
Can I buy directly on Pruty.sk?
No. Pruty.sk is a catalogue and comparison site, not an online shop. You choose your gear there and the purchase takes place directly with the retailer.
How can fishing rods be filtered?
By length, casting weight in grams, test curve in pounds, brand and price.
Which rod should I choose for float fishing?
According to the Pruty.sk advice section, a pole suits still water up to 5 to 6 m from the bank, a bolognese rod suits flowing water, and a match rod suits fishing further out, especially in wind.
What do I need to fish legally in Slovakia?
A fishing licence and a fishing permit for the specific water. The advice section explains that you can get them through a local branch of the Slovak Anglers' Union (SRZ) or another fishery operator.
