About the project
Prešovský kraj is an independent regional news portal for the whole Prešov Self-Governing Region. It brings short news from the region, towns and villages, traffic restrictions, events, sport and weather. Each item names its source and links to the original text.
News comes from official sources such as the Prešov Self-Governing Region, town offices and the Slovak Hydrometeorological Institute. Sensitive topics, for example accidents and crimes, are published only after editorial review. Photos with the news come from official sources and are labelled.
The portal also includes planned outages of electricity, water and gas, official notices, local job offers, cinema listings and a directory of companies. Every day at 7:00 you can receive a morning news summary by e-mail. The editors' own texts about Šariš, Spiš and Zemplín and trip tips are in the sections Výlety (Trips) and O kraji (About the region).

How to search
- In the menu, open the section you want, for example News, Traffic, Sport or Jobs.
- Use Moje mesto (My town) to choose a town or village. The portal remembers it and shows its news and weather.
- In the Obce (Municipalities) section, open a village page with news, the official notice board, weather and planned outages.
- On the regional map, districts are shown by the number of news items in 7 days. A click shows villages, outages and warnings.
- Turn on the morning summary by e-mail or subscribe via RSS.
