About the project
Sekčov is a neighbourhood portal for the Sekčov housing estate in Prešov, the largest housing estate in the city, on the left bank of the Sekčov river. It collects news from the city, traffic restrictions and public transport, planned water, electricity and gas outages, on-call pharmacies, cinema programme, weather and name days.
The site relies on official sources, including the City of Prešov, the Prešov transport company, energy and water distributors, e-VÚC, SHMÚ and cinemas. Each story shows its source and a link to the original text. Sensitive topics are published only after editorial review.
The site also has a map of the estate, an About the estate page with verified facts and a morning news summary by e-mail. Readers can send a tip from Sekčov, even anonymously. The editors review and verify it.
